HAPPY SUMMER (or whatever is left of it!)

Dear all ,
I am ever so sorry for not posting for so long on this blog as had such  a busy summer with our amazing guests at St Michaels

Then had a family holiday break, then bookings for 2018 and doing paper work for us and all , then celebrating  David`s birthday that lasted a few days :)

Then had kids (our daughter`s friends) on and off for numerous sleep overs (SLEEP OVERS
- is it an ENGLISH thing? or is it some sort of ... NEW GENERATION "thing!"? When I was growing up we never had one of "those" :)
only if our closest friends would invite us as a family and only then we will get together and stay over night even adults and kids - what a fun it must have been - I am still a very close friend of that family - they are like a PROPER family to us all! )

Coming back to our summer - hoping you all did not miss out an amazing air show that my brother in law Gerald McCarthy and his friends organised for us all!
Unfortunately my husband was out of action that day ... as had some surgery a day before ... and still recovering .. so I have a perfect patient one moment and a "naughty patient" another!
When David comes in to St Michaels (as he ALWAYS thinks of the things to improve in   our beautiful  holiday home) .. but being so weak he is unable to do much (! but thinks he can do it all!) so thats when the DOUBLE TROUBLE starts!!!!!!

I am not one of the patient women who can sit and calmly explain themselves if say I am on the balcony of St Michaels doing some bits and with the corner of my eye seeing my dear husband .. LIFTING things i.e hot tub lid etc I do not sit and keep quiet I DO SHOUT out at the top of my voice "scaring" our dear housekeeper Annie :) sorry  dear, but that`s just me .. although David did not hear a word of it and my vocal cords are now "damaged" :)) - haha!
must have added this "effect" in the evening after visiting a wonderful birthday surprise party organised by my dear Russian friend for her mum :)

we giggled and laughed and took huge amount of photos :) so really sorry to all of you who visited the restaurant at the same time as us we are NOT always this loud and naughty :) it was simply because we only get together once in a million years now .. although live not too far away - including counting - the km over seas in different countries :)))

Anyway - enough said! In  a few days (!!) kids will be BACK TO SCHOOL (WOOP WOOP!) not sure why am I so happy about it - suppose because I will (hopefully) get my quiet mornings back )) and will be able to catch up on .. more reading ( I wish) , sleeping (as if) , planning my projects (which ones?! as got so many) , and maybe FINALLY will get to go to the GYM (did I just say a swear word?! ) :))
and to top up all this - SILLY ME  - I even put in WRITING .. to one of the brilliant coaches - that I will START ... a KA- RA- TE (OMG!) lessons in Sept ..
also - will start  singing family lessons (hoping will convince my husband to do that!! - his answer will be .. NEVER) :)
and also  - of course I wanted to come back to my dancing lessons - as SO MUCH FUN !
and .. still need to take off that dust off my sewing machine :) that kept untouched throughout summer holidays ... LIAR!!   as made some cushions for St Michaels the other week :)
and in "between" I will still need to find time to work at my fav place of all - the pharmacy with my dear colleagues and of course at St Michaels ..

oh I totally forgot to thank all of you (can not believe you actually read all my nonsense :) that I just typed here) :) - would love to thank all our lovely guests who stayed at St Michaels this summer , who left such kind reviews,who shared all your special memories with us  , one of the photo I would post here :)

we look forward meeting you all in future one day! It was AMAZING to meet you all ! and we look forward meeting new guests soon

A few weeks ago when we received an email telling us congratulations .. we did not think anything of it . . yes, it was nice, but not much more ..

But when the local correspondent phoned us and STRESSED OUT that IT WAS an IMPORTANT AWARD , we decided to google about it .. and I have SCREAMED from Happiness ever since :)

"AMAZING HOLIDAY HOUSE..

This is an awesome Stag-friendly house. Spacious and really comfortable with all the entertainment and utilities you would need. Big TVs, Big Sound System, Pool Table, Table Tennnis and Hot Tub. We didn't use the Gym but it looked legit. And supermarket right next door and town centre and beach just a ten minute walk away. This is an amazing place and the owners are really nice too. They even gifted us with a crate of beer when we arrived! We had a such a blast. I can't wait to come back!"

This magical weekend came and went ... with the blink of the eye!

We had a fantastic group of young lads (bachelor celebration at St Michaels)!
They had a fun time at our beautiful Holiday Home and off they went to their special wedding that will take place in less than a week now :)
How exciting! Congratulations to you all! And hoping to see you all back with your families one day at St Michaels!

Talking about weddings and fairy tales ... We all have been waiting for this moment for many months now .. not because it mattered to us, but because we have heard SO MUCH and SO OFTEN who should attend, who should not ... any "pretty ladies" were not welcome to the official ceremony as not to over shine the gorgeous bride (yes! The one who took ALL THE ATTENTION and more during her sister`s wedding ... yes Pippa! we are talking about you here and kindly congratulating you and your dear husband on your wedding! Look forward to hear all about your happy lives with future children to come ..)

Talking about children ,,, there is an exciting news in our family - my dear husband`s eldest daughter Micha  and her husband Lee are expecting a little girl! How exciting!
We can not wait to see her adorable little face! Smell her tiny feet :) and more ..

OMG! I had to re write this blog a little , as only now found out AMAZING news!!!!!!!!! that our talented singing teaches Victoria & James had a miracle this morning ! Beautiful Victoria gave a birth to an ADORABLE little baby boy (2nd gorgeous child) CONGRATULATIONS to you all!

It is a BABY BOOM this year :)

And of course: hip hip hooray! In one week ALL THE CHILDREN in Whitstable (and not only) will have a SCHOOL HOLIDAY (again!) :))) how exciting!
So amazing being a mum :)

Good morning everybody!
Hoping you all are planning your week by celebrating this special day - the international FAMILY day! Perfect idea to take your family to St Michaels Holiday Home!
If you ask me -"what does the family mean to you?!" .... I would reply without any hesitation = "EVERYTHING"!
I am so blessed to have a wonderful family here, with my husband David and our little girl

and our family .. and of course, so happy to have my family in Russia !

The "weather at home" is SO IMPORTANT as the weather outside! :)
In my words I say to my husband : "happy wife, happy life" and IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!

David and I were talking today that we have been married ... for  nearly 14 years now! ("they give less for murder" , - was my reply!) :)

I still run to him, I still love him .. the way I always have since we have met each other and committed to each other ..
Hoping this special feeling will last forever ...
I know so many beautiful people out there who, like me, adore and cherish their family and friends

This photo is just a small example for us all! Close knit family who live so far apart  (as far as Australia/ Whitstable  - I tell you!) ... but  despite of the distance already are flying back soon to spend their quality time  together at St Michaels!

Today is a VERY special day (for people in France anyway, as I absolutely LOVE that country .. and especially Paris! oh la la! I am OVER DUE to come back there! My dear friend lives there with her family too

 and it makes me even harder not to go ..)  (on the  photo below  you can see me, and my little Sunshine by the Eiffel tower ..

I absolutely adore all the people who do look after our PLANET! The one and only that we live in! 

Especially on days like this - even if you "do not have enough time" on   daily basis to do so .. then at least thanks to the people like former US senator Gaylord Nelson who encourages us to sit, think, protect! MAKE CHANGE for the best! 

This day was founded by him   after he saw the enormous 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. ...
The first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970, in America.

as they say : EVERY LITTLE HELPS! just read the below list .. and try to "tick" for yourselves .. 

How should I celebrate?

It has been just under one week since Carmen and I got back from Siberia and we were given a huge amount of amazing gifts that we will cherish, share and enjoy! 

Today is the ideal day for us to open  a gift from year 5a student Egorov Mark 

His dad (a  keen hunter and fisherman) specially collected Ivan -tea for us to taste 

"Ivan - Tea (Epilobium) - fount of vitamins and microelements, healthful broth this plant cures many diseases and gives vivacity body) 

About this tea is mentioned in historical chronicles. Before the advent of normal tea, in Russia, as in other European countries, has been at a premium Russian tea or Ivan-tea, raw materials for which served the leaves kipreja. Such tea delivered to the Imperial table and widely exported abroad,  My dad loves hunting and fishing. He often happens in the taiga, This tea he collected, dried and prepared himself. A change for the better . .

Our little girl and I went to visit my family in Siberia! It has been a VERY long time since we have seen them all .. (3 years to be precise! )

We had an amazing time and ... did not want to leave them at all , but our daddy was waiting for us here, in the UK and he made great job looking after all the wonderful guests at St Michaels Holiday home AND B&B!

I was totally surprised to see new changes at St Michaels !

Crazy things happen when you least expect them ..

I am NOT a writer or anything and do not claim to be one .. It is that  simple!   All the stories that come to my mind  I have written while travelling .. whether while I was standing behind the wheel of the yacht on a starry night  or  sitting (as a passenger on a plane :) (like this time) ... as any other times my mind races "100 miles per hour" , trying not to miss anything that is going on out there in the world ..

Since I was a little girl I was always encouraged to write , and I always WANTED to write anything and everything .. I am lost in the amount of diaries that I have written in the past, and I have lost the count to all the books that I have read and will read in future!

But only when I reached this special year 2017 (my year! The Year of the Rooster  - by Chinese calendar ), and thanks to our business St Michaels Holiday Home, I started to write  online - on our blog (stmichaelswhitstable.co.uk).

Thanks to my passionate nature for travelling and buzz about life and especially thanks to my dear husband David (who supports me, who believes in me and shares THE SAME interests as me..) He quite often "plants the seed" in my head .. and I just keep researching or simply writing about it ..


As this time I am surrounded by little children - my little girl and her dear  cousin/sis  .. The only thing that comes to my mind is  to write the story for them  :)

Not sure whether you will like this story or not, but hope you will get the idea :)

                       The PENCIL MAN       

Once upon a time, in the Big City there lived a LITLLE Pencil Man ..

He was always feeling sad and lonely  as nobody wanted to play or talk to him , until one day ... when he ended up in the storm, while trying to drown in his own tears ... The lightning stroke him and sharpened him into a handsome, young Pencil Man! 

Very good looking  and stylish he surprised himself the way he started to look, and especially the way young pretty ladies Pencilinas started to look at him :) 

When his looks was not enough for young Pencil, he decided to use his natural skills and went to magical world of science: THE UNIVERSITY! 

Where he found himself at peace and proud as EVERYBODY NEEDED HIM! 

Our dear friend, Handsome Pencil, became a MR PENCIL from now on. 

Everybody wanted to honor him and more than that, the more they sharpened Mr Pencil the more attractive he became.

He always smiled as he FOUND HIS PURPOSE  in life! He understood that for somebody, he actually was a VERY important friend.! 

The end :) 

Let`s hope you will find that special friend as I luckily did! 

And if you can not find him/or her ,, then BE ONE!

The most exciting thing about the blog ...

The most exciting thing about the blog is the fact that whatever you feel you can actually put in writing ..
There are no editors, no judges, just yourselves - special people, who actually take time reading this note ..

This Easter break  our daughter and I  decided to spend in Siberia!

Of course it would be more exotic to actually take a trans Siberian train from Moscow platform and get all the way  to rural places of vast Russia ..
although not this time though ..
as due to school commitments for our little girl and business commitments (stmichaelswhitstable.co.uk) for me - we "simply" hopped on a plane .. first from Gatwick to Moscow, that took as about .. 3.5 pleasant hours ..

The moment we landed in the Capital of Russia ,, the adventure has started for us both ..

Two , totally out of place (1st trip  in 3 years away from our daddy David) me and our Carmen , who understands Russian language but prefers to speak in English to me .. we had to rush off the 1st plane and physically run to catch our second flight ..
After pretty much a nightmare of queues , one after the other, after running back and forward as we were totally misled by some people .. after pushing through the crowd .. AGAIN ..
me, being me, worried about "not making on time" and totally embarrassing our my little girl .. who gave up running through the crowd half way and tried to "blend in" among them ..
I must admit,  I did look mad with less than one hour before the take off the 2nd plane us, not being registered yet I did not fancy spending the night at the airport when we finally went though passport control ..
(we were told one more minute and our luggage would have been sent to security checks as 2 "suspicious cases" from London been left unattended" .

After more checks and more running we located our gate No 18 ... and waited excitedly to be called in for the last checks

We spoke to our daddy David who kindly agreed to stay back in England to look after our guests at St Michaels
He was excited to hear us being well


We spoke to my sister, who was more excited as she was waiting for our arrival in a few hours ..
it took us just under 5 hours to get to the beautiful city of Krasnoyarsk! And my sis and my friend were meeting us at the airport with all the suprises!

after a few more minutes ... we entered the plane and in about 10/15 minutes we were off to our new adventure..
What lays ahead of us we will see .. :)

Excited is an UNDERSTATEMENT!

Today was an ASTONISHING moment in my life! (So grateful to the power of Internet)

Without realizing who actually visited St Michaels B&B .. before we said good bye to this special guest .. (please see the photo, and please do excuse the way I look - as been working at St Michaels all day .... but only if I knew then (!) when David took a photo That Nasrin was not "just"  the  author and translator ( that  information alone got me so excited !!!  as you might remember (if you read the blog) that during the last few weeks/months   I have had an amazing opportunity to meet such will powered women! And I am absolutely HONORED that I got to meet them all ..)

"Nasrin Parvaz became a civil rights activist when the Islamic regime took power in 1979. She was arrested in 1982, tortured and spent eight years in prison. In 1993, she fled to England. Her prison memoir was published in Farsi in 2002, and it was published in Italian in 2006 by Effedue Edizioni. A novel, Temptation, based on the true stories of some male prisoners who survived the 1988 massacre of Iranian prisoners was published in Farsi in 2008. Nasrin’s stories appeared in Exiled Writers Ink. Since 2005, together with poet Hubert Moore, she has translated poems, prohibited in Iran, from Farsi into English. They appear in the Modern Poetry in Translation series. Her article, Writing in the ‘Host’ Language, published in The Great Flight, MPT 2016 Number 1, and is on the MPT website.

SPRING IS HERE!

CONGRATULATIONS  to all of you with the first day of spring! 
It will start from today,  March 20 and will end on Wednesday, June 21 2017 

The exciting change of the clocks will take place on Sunday March 26! (Although, sadly, it means an hour less in bed.. But greatly - MORE DAYLIGHT in the evenings! Hooray! )

GIRLS POWER!

Did you ever have a dream that you might meet someone very inspiring person that might change your ideas to life or totally will make you CHANGE all your believes or help you stand on the right path of life?!

I was very lucky the other day to meet this wonderful person:

Writer, Poet, mom of 6 beautiful girls, sign language teacher ,, and simply a very nice person Kathryn Irrgang!

We both wanted to attend this course that we went to (due to our work commitments )
and during short tea break ended up chatting non stop about everything and nothing (as all chatterbox women usually do! )
And surprisingly I have found out so much interesting things from Kathryn , including been taught a few words in sign language ("these were very impressive skills "  - apparently my daughter told me later! )



How many of you had a chance to think " do women inspire more than man" ?

If we use  statistics, than we will see that majority of leaders (64%) are still men .. but!
Due to all these statistics ,, I (personally) get so excited when THE WOMAN makes some great changes in our lives ! Let it be our Prime Minister or ... "simply" your Majesty the Queen

who was of course born to be the Queen and had no choice but to be an amazing example and inspiration to us all!

One of the best ones of all was of course the Queen of Our Hearts ... Lady D

I am honored to know this  WONDERFUL  , absolutely down to Earth person! Beautiful mum of one, who lives in Whitstable , The Author,  the nun Pema Deki " In January 2017, she was selected for a 'Points of Light' Award by the Prime Minister of UK, Teresa May for her volunteerism. Currently a JICA senior" (JICA Bhutan Office) 
  Helping as a volunteer to all the  beautiful children in Bhutan !!! 
Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Bhutan and Emma had a special chat with Duchess of Cambridge

CELEBRATION should last at least a week! HAPPY INTERNATIONAL LADIES DAY dear ladies!!!

What I have " found out "  from my dear friend is ... life is too short and "we`ve got to have fun!" :)
"Life needs to be enjoyed", -  she told me .. while packing to go to Madrid with her girlfriends for a break with her girlfriends !

I TOTALLY AGREE!  

and while I had an opportunity to have at least ONE great day out  (again - thanks to my friend who kindly agreed to look after our little girl) - I have "grabbed" my dear husband and we were off to have a fun day out in London! Luckily Whitstable (St Michaels Holiday Home ) is only just over one hour away from London! 

So convenient! ! and so much fun! 

I can see why everyone who works and lives in London so eager to come back to St Michaels ! as it is PERFECTLY located for you all :) 

Anyway, as they say "grass is always greener somewhere else" so when you live in this beautiful trendy / quiet town  BY THE SEA .. sometimes you need a splash of TOO MUCH NOISE and business of the capital :) 

Saying that .. even we did not last for too long among the busy daily lives of Londoners .. and found a very peaceful place by the lake in one of the parks .. 

That TOTALLY reminded us of Whitstable :) 

Hahaha (just kidding about this photo! Wanted to point out AGAIN that St Michaels ALSO HAVE AN ORIGINAL Kiosk No 6!!! How lucky are our guests who visit and take photos here!!!!!) 

Anyway, coming back to the quite corners of London ..

David have lived many years near this beautiful BEST CAPITAL OF THE WORLD and NEVER enjoyed his days out this much as today! As for the first time he has been shown a "different" ... peaceful side of this amazing city! 

Although of course there is NOTHING compares with Whitstable in Kent ... 

which is THE NEAREST town by the SEA from London .. 

OMG! Best photographers come and visit here to take beautiful photos! 

WELL KNOWN artists visit AND LIVE and paint here! 

TALENTED writes find themselves at peace in Whitstable and its historical castle, harbour, beautiful beaches ..
