The one and only .. Nasrin Parvaz, visiting St Michaels Holiday Home!!!!

Remember the blog about "Girls Power"? And all those AMAZING women that I have briefly mentioned about? (If not, please take your time to read it - just scroll down to see the blog)
Today was an ASTONISHING moment in my life! (So grateful to the power of Internet)

Without realizing who actually visited St Michaels B&B .. before we said good bye to this special guest .. (please see the photo, and please do excuse the way I look - as been working at St Michaels all day .... but only if I knew then (!) when David took a photo That Nasrin was not "just"  the  author and translator ( that  information alone got me so excited !!!  as you might remember (if you read the blog) that during the last few weeks/months   I have had an amazing opportunity to meet such will powered women! And I am absolutely HONORED that I got to meet them all ..)
Today was THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!! David and I were delighted to meet the one and only NASRIN PARVAZ !!

"Nasrin Parvaz became a civil rights activist when the Islamic regime took power in 1979. She was arrested in 1982, tortured and spent eight years in prison. In 1993, she fled to England. Her prison memoir was published in Farsi in 2002, and it was published in Italian in 2006 by Effedue Edizioni. A novel, Temptation, based on the true stories of some male prisoners who survived the 1988 massacre of Iranian prisoners was published in Farsi in 2008. Nasrin’s stories appeared in Exiled Writers Ink. Since 2005, together with poet Hubert Moore, she has translated poems, prohibited in Iran, from Farsi into English. They appear in the Modern Poetry in Translation series. Her article, Writing in the ‘Host’ Language, published in The Great Flight, MPT 2016 Number 1, and is on the MPT website.

David and I will remember this  beautiful Sunny day 27th of March 2017 .. and we will try to follow (via the website and Facebook page) the  amazing work  of  Nasrin  Parvaz ... and we secretly will hope to see her  one day back at St Michaels Holiday Home ...
