The one and only .. Nasrin Parvaz, visiting St Michaels Holiday Home!!!!

Remember the blog about "Girls Power"? And all those AMAZING women that I have briefly mentioned about? (If not, please take your time to read it - just scroll down to see the blog)
Today was an ASTONISHING moment in my life! (So grateful to the power of Internet)

Without realizing who actually visited St Michaels B&B .. before we said good bye to this special guest .. (please see the photo, and please do excuse the way I look - as been working at St Michaels all day .... but only if I knew then (!) when David took a photo That Nasrin was not "just"  the  author and translator ( that  information alone got me so excited !!!  as you might remember (if you read the blog) that during the last few weeks/months   I have had an amazing opportunity to meet such will powered women! And I am absolutely HONORED that I got to meet them all ..)
Today was THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!! David and I were delighted to meet the one and only NASRIN PARVAZ !!

 http://www.nasrinparvaz.org/web/

"Nasrin Parvaz became a civil rights activist when the Islamic regime took power in 1979. She was arrested in 1982, tortured and spent eight years in prison. In 1993, she fled to England. Her prison memoir was published in Farsi in 2002, and it was published in Italian in 2006 by Effedue Edizioni. A novel, Temptation, based on the true stories of some male prisoners who survived the 1988 massacre of Iranian prisoners was published in Farsi in 2008. Nasrin’s stories appeared in Exiled Writers Ink. Since 2005, together with poet Hubert Moore, she has translated poems, prohibited in Iran, from Farsi into English. They appear in the Modern Poetry in Translation series. Her article, Writing in the ‘Host’ Language, published in The Great Flight, MPT 2016 Number 1, and is on the MPT website.

"One of Nasrin’s short stories, A war against womanhood, won the Women’s World Award in 2003" ...
the list goes on and on and on about this incredibly modest woman!
Please have a look at Nasrin`s offical site ( http://nasrinparvaz.org/)

One of her  books can be purchased on Amazon

David and I will remember this  beautiful Sunny day 27th of March 2017 .. and we will try to follow (via the website and Facebook page) the  amazing work  of  Nasrin  Parvaz ... and we secretly will hope to see her  one day back at St Michaels Holiday Home ...

I would like to end this blog with  one beautiful poem,  written by Nasrin Parvaz ..

Save the planet! Take part in the Earth Hour this Saturday 2017!

"Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held worldwide annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. towards the end of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.[1] It was famously started as a lights-off event in SydneyAustralia, in 2007. Since then, it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide. Today, Earth Hour engages a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues. The one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movements." (Thank you Wikipedia)

As you know we have ONE PLANET  where we live in! Let`s make it last!

LONDON ATTACK!

Sad footage on News and all the newspapers tonight , showing us that it is not safe in London now!
Three French school pupils were among the injured ....
"Number of other people were hurt - some with "catastrophic" injuries." (thank you BBC for all the updates)  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39355940
The world has gone mad! Innocent people are dead! When will it end?!
"Tom Peck, political editor for the Independent, tweeted: "There was a loud bang. Screams. Commotion. Then the sound of gunshots. Armed police everywhere.""(BBC news)
Hoping this violence WILL STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay safe!!
Have a good night

GIRLS POWER!

Did you ever have a dream that you might meet someone very inspiring person that might change your ideas to life or totally will make you CHANGE all your believes or help you stand on the right path of life?!

I was very lucky the other day to meet this wonderful person:

Writer, Poet, mom of 6 beautiful girls, sign language teacher ,, and simply a very nice person Kathryn Irrgang!

We both wanted to attend this course that we went to (due to our work commitments )
and during short tea break ended up chatting non stop about everything and nothing (as all chatterbox women usually do! )
And surprisingly I have found out so much interesting things from Kathryn , including been taught a few words in sign language ("these were very impressive skills "  - apparently my daughter told me later! )

How many of you had a chance to think " do women inspire more than man" ?

If we use  statistics, than we will see that majority of leaders (64%) are still men .. but!
Due to all these statistics ,, I (personally) get so excited when THE WOMAN makes some great changes in our lives ! Let it be our Prime Minister or ... "simply" your Majesty the Queen

who was of course born to be the Queen and had no choice but to be an amazing example and inspiration to us all!

One of the best ones of all was of course the Queen of Our Hearts ... Lady D

(please see my previous posts on our website stmichaelswhitstable.co.uk  regarding our trip to London and  the beautiful garments that Princess D worn .. some of the dresses  are displayed at Kengsington Palace in London and one even has a hand print of Prince William when he was a little boy ..

One more AMAZING person that lives  to help others!
I am honored to know this  WONDERFUL  , absolutely down to Earth person! Beautiful mum of one, who lives in Whitstable , The Author,  the nun Pema Deki " In January 2017, she was selected for a 'Points of Light' Award by the Prime Minister of UK, Teresa May for her volunteerism. Currently a JICA senior" (JICA Bhutan Office)
Helping as a volunteer to all the  beautiful children in Bhutan !!!
Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Bhutan and Emma had a special chat with Duchess of Cambridge

(Please read the article about it here:
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/whitstable/news/prince-william-and-kate-support-94580/)
And please :
Pre order a VERY INTERESTING  book "Set free " by Emma Slade
From Amazon ...
All the money (100%!!!) Will go to "Opening your heart to Bhutan " charity !! (I pre ordered mine !!!)
Good luck Emma! Your son Oscar will be (already is ) very proud !!!

Most of you probably already have heard about one more  an absolute inspiration lady - Children`s Author Faye Beerling! She also lives local and she is a  very special mum !
Our daughter has one of her  books , signed by the Author
Faye was so kind to write a wonderful poem about our St Michaels Holiday Home (please read my post on our website stmichaelswhitstable.co.uk about it)
Latest book "They raced to the moon" can be purchased here on http://www.booktopia.com

What an amazing ladies! Girls power!! Hip Hip Hooray!
I am sure you can add even more to our " list " of beautiful and talented ladies !
What I simply wanted to add .... by quoting Faye Beerling .. " I've got a difficult journey ahead; but knowing what I do now, I know what I've got to do. "Girl Power" ....!!!!"

Thank you ALL so much for being a total inspiration to us all!
And if I do not get another chance to say : wishing you all a VERY HAPPY MOTHER`S DAY that is approaching sooner than we think ... but first!
Let`s celebrate St Patric`s day with it`s SPECIAL Irish dancing event that will take across GREAT BRITAIN , and Ireland tomorrow.
Lots of love, T x

CELEBRATION should last at least a week! HAPPY INTERNATIONAL LADIES DAY dear ladies!!!

What I have " found out "  from my dear friend is ... life is too short and "we`ve got to have fun!" :)
"Life needs to be enjoyed", -  she told me .. while packing to go to Madrid with her girlfriends for a break with her girlfriends !

I TOTALLY AGREE!

and while I had an opportunity to have at least ONE great day out  (again - thanks to my friend who kindly agreed to look after our little girl) - I have "grabbed" my dear husband and we were off to have a fun day out in London! Luckily Whitstable (St Michaels Holiday Home ) is only just over one hour away from London!

So convenient! ! and so much fun!
I can see why everyone who works and lives in London so eager to come back to St Michaels ! as it is PERFECTLY located for you all :)

Anyway, as they say "grass is always greener somewhere else" so when you live in this beautiful trendy / quiet town  BY THE SEA .. sometimes you need a splash of TOO MUCH NOISE and business of the capital :)

Saying that .. even we did not last for too long among the busy daily lives of Londoners .. and found a very peaceful place by the lake in one of the parks ..
That TOTALLY reminded us of Whitstable :)
Hahaha (just kidding about this photo! Wanted to point out AGAIN that St Michaels ALSO HAVE AN ORIGINAL Kiosk No 6!!! How lucky are our guests who visit and take photos here!!!!!)

Anyway, coming back to the quite corners of London ..

David have lived many years near this beautiful BEST CAPITAL OF THE WORLD and NEVER enjoyed his days out this much as today! As for the first time he has been shown a "different" ... peaceful side of this amazing city!

Although of course there is NOTHING compares with Whitstable in Kent ...
which is THE NEAREST town by the SEA from London ..
OMG! Best photographers come and visit here to take beautiful photos!
WELL KNOWN artists visit AND LIVE and paint here!
TALENTED writes find themselves at peace in Whitstable and its historical castle, harbour, beautiful beaches ..
Let`s simply say .. if you EVER decide to visit Whitstable, the BEST PLACE to stay is at
St Michaels Holiday Home!

We provide EVERYTHING and more for you all!
If you love a busy /noisy/fun times then Whitstable has amazing places to visit (Please google on TripAdvisor or let us know - we will give you the list of all the best bars, restaurants to visit)

FANTASTIC weekend!

What a SPECIAL weekend we all had!

Our charming little girl celebrated her 9th birthday on Friday! and had TWO SLEEP OVERS during this week end! Lovely group of her friends kept us entertained (playing Russian games all day and night  ) and  kept us awake  until early hours of the Saturday morning :) and Carmen`s hilarious cousins slept better on Sat night! as they were "so keen to come back" :)
and one of her " best friends" invited her to a Spa birthday treat at Tree Tops (which is conveniently located 5 minutes away from St Michaels )

so our daughter had a BLAST ! and when she got back home ...  we all slept happily for like .. hours! :) (even our Puppy did the same, although he really enjoyed all the attention during the parties)

The top of the icing .. was to have awesome guests at St Michaels!
Elegant guests visited our grand St Michaels Holiday Home this weekend !

It was very nice for us both to find out that the guests were from our local town of Tankerton! (and some were from overseas)
And the best thing of all was to hear that they all had a " fantastic weekend " and that they are planning  to have an "another return" at St Michaels "

This would be an absolute pleasure for us both (you can always have a quick break as St Michaels also offers B&B (continental breakfast) during week days only!

Hoping to see you all soon!
Lots love, T &D

FANTASTIC people - make difference in our lives!

Two very special guests visited St Michaels last night! and they said that they had a very nice time!
So lovely to read such kind review! Thank you both so much for this! Would be a pleasure to accommodate you both again in near future!

"Had a brilliant time at St Michael's celebrating my fiancé's birthday.

The hot tub is amazing! Location is excellent with everything you could need close by, including the new Marks and Spencer's just round the corner, and Whitstable town and beach a 10 minute bus ride away. House is huge and immaculate with huge attention to detail,

and the bottle of bubbly

and dressing gowns

were a lovely touch upon arrival. David and Tatiana are lovely, and couldn't have been more welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer! A lovely, relaxing and much needed break enjoyed by all, thank you so much."

We would like to congratulate you  both on your ENGAGEMENT and a very happy birthday to your birthday boy, who seemed to enjoy his treat at St Michaels! Thank you very much for sharing these special photos with us all
